Welcome to Guilsfield Pre –School Playgroup, where we provide care for both girls and boys up to school age. We hope your child will have a happy and rewarding time during their stay with us.

We will endeavour to provide stimulating quality indoor and outdoor play in a safe and caring environment, where children learn through play in partnership with parents/carers. We predominantly teach through the medium of English, however Welsh is used throughout the sessions.

The setting is situated in the Community Centre in Guilsfield, which is attached to the Guilsfield Primary School. It has a main room, kitchen and toilets. Outside we have a 3+ dedicated outdoor area. At this time we have no pets or animals within the setting. The setting is accessed by the Community Centre door by the car park. Please note the car park is for staff use only.

Our group is a member of the WPPA and is registered with the CIW, who each year require us to review our policies and Statement of Purpose, report any changes and produce a Quality of Care report that is to be shared with parents and carers. We are also inspected by Estyn and our last inspection can be read on the Estyn website (www.estyn.gov.uk). and our last CIW inspection can be viewed on the CIW website (www.careinspectorate.wales). Our setting is covered by public liability insurance and a copy is on the notice board outside the community room door.

The setting operates during school term times only and is registered for 19 children. Morning sessions Monday to Thursday are dedicated to 3+ education, 9am to 11.30 am and then from 11.30am- 3pm the Childcare offer for Wales takes over. Fridays from 9am to 3pm are dedicated to the Childcare offer for Wales. There may at times be spaces for children to attend who are not funded, however funded children will take priority. Please look at the Powys County Council website for eligibility to access the childcare element or speak to a member of staff.

All children are welcome regardless of any difficulties. In some circumstances special arrangements maybe needed. If your child has any specific needs please tell the supervisor, as the playgroup needs to know for the benefit of your child.
